James R. Hance

Memorial service for James R. Hance, 73, of Morley will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Highway 11, Canton at 1:00pm with Rev. Bill Hart, officiating. James died on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Upstate Medical Center Syracuse. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
James was born, May 22, 1938 in DeKalb, the son of the late Benjamin and Rose (Davis) Hance. He was joined in marriage to Loretta M. Beaulne on February 14, 1958, she predeceased him in 1995. For the last 16 years, James has lived with his companion, Janet Davis in Morley. James retired from the Fort Covington Town Highway Department after 27 years. He loved country music and owned his own karaoke business, Jamie and Janet's Karaoke. He was a member of the Fort Covington Knights of Columbus and more recently The Sons of the AMVETS in Heuvelton.
James is survived by two sons; Ricky and wife Valery and Randy and wife Jill, all of Fort Covington, by grandchildren, Kayla, Kimberly, Jennifer,Tyler an Steven Hance; step-grandchildren Jason Rousell and Jennifer Clary; one great-grandchild and four great-step grandchildren. He was loved by Janet and her children Chuck and Lorna along with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving James are siblings, Emily, Barbara, Merton, Berton, Roselda and Judy.
He is predeceased by siblings, Silas, Agnes, Elsie, Maribelle and Polly.
