There will be no funeral or calling hours for James E. Petrie, 60, Canton, who passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday.
Surviving Mr. Petrie are his caregiver of 15 years Serena LaLone of Canton, sons Jeremy and Matthew Petrie of Bath, NY, two brothers Harry Petrie of Henderson, NV and David and Nancy Petrie of Dundee, NY.
A sister Shirley Kennedy predeceases him.
Born July 19, 1942 in Bath, son of the late Sally Marvin. He graduated from Hammondsport Central School in 1967 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, which he served in Vietnam from March 1968 to February 1972. Two marriages ended in divorce.
Mr. Petrie was a NASCAR fan; he enjoyed airplanes and music.
