Helen (Perry) Paro
October 11, 1930 — May 21, 2016
Graveside service for Mrs. Helen Paro, 85, of Canton will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery, Canton. There will be no calling hours. Mrs. Paro passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 while at home under the care of family and Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
Helen is survived by three sons, Guy (Charlene) Paro of Canton; James Paro and companion Patricia Dunn of Syracuse and Charles Paro of Canton. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a son, Gary Paro and by all of her siblings, Ted, Lee, Keith, January, Glenn and Carol.
Helen was born October 11, 1930 in Pyrites, the daughter of the late January and Mabel Perry. She attended Pyrites Schools. On May 21, 1945, Helen married Charles Paro in Kentucky; the marriage continued sixty-five years until Mr. Paro's death on April 15, 2010. Helen was a proud homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and spending time in Florida. She loved planting and caring for colorful flowers and trees.
Through-out her life Helen maintained a strong and quiet belief in God and at the end, she was content and happy to pass onto him.
