Harriet L. (Vanbrocklin) Law

Graveside service for Harriet L. Law, 94, of Potsdam, will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Beech Plains Cemetery, Pierrepont. Harriet died on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home; Canton. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Heart Association.
Harriet is survived by a son, Steven (Caroll) Law; by three daughters, Evelyn Merrill; Barbara (Phil) Witherell; and Irene Mitchell; by 17 grandchildren and by several great-grandchildren, and by a sister, Shirley Thayer and by a close friend Louise Gardner.
Harriet is predeceased by brothers, Ralph, Lewis and Glen VanBrocklin and by sisters, Alice Grange, Jessie Stratton, Lois Grout, Emma Jean Whitman and Harriet Taylor and by a grandson Joey Merrill.
Harriet was born, May 5, 1921 in Pierrepont, the daughter of the late Lewis Erksine and Mary Louise (McDonald) VanBrocklin. She attended Pierrepont Schools. On March 25, 1940, she married Nelson Law in Pierrepont, Mr. Law predeceased her in December of 1970. Harriet work for the Charlebois Nursing Home in Potsdam, for Potsdam Laundry and for McCarthy's Restaurant in Canton.
