Graveside service for Gretchen Locke, 77, of Russell will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00am at the North Russell Cemetery, with Rev. William Hart, officiating. Mrs. Locke passed away at her home on Monday, August 30, 2010 while under the care of her family and Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Hwy 11, Potsdam, New York 13676 or a charity of one's choice.
Surviving Gretchen is her husband of 56 years, Rollin Locke, a son Andy of Mechanicsville, several nieces and nephews including Peggy Shea of South Colton.
A brother Ira "Pete" Bullis and a sister Beverly Jennings predecease her.
Born August 4, 1933 in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Lucia (Blackmer) Bullis. She attended Brick Chapel and Canton Schools. On January 16, 1954 she married Rollin Locke at the Canton United Methodist Church.
Gretchen enjoyed flowers, garage sales, baking and decorating the home.
