Grace Elaine (Mcdonnell) Smith

Grace Elaine Smith, 96, of Rochester was born November 21, 1923. Deceased September 12, 2020. Grace Elaine Smith is predeceased by her husband, Richard Charles Smith (May 26, 2018). She is survived by her children (Bradley Richard Smith and Suzanne Mary Smith), grandchildren (Kathryn Leigh Kennedy (John) and Ailis Meghan Smith), and great granddaughter (Maggie Grace Kennedy).

Grace was born and grew up in Rochester, NY. She was a talented musician, playing both piano and first violin at Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women in Rochester, NY. After graduating high school, she worked at Bausch and Lomb in Rochester, NY where she met the love of her life, Richard C. Smith. They were married for nearly 72 years before Richard passed away in 2018.

Arrangements for Grace's cremation are under the care of the O'Leary Funeral Service of Canton. Her ashes will be interred with her beloved Richard at Bath National Cemetery in Bath, NY. A funeral service and celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Donations may be made in Grace's memory to the Church of St. Jerome in East Rochester, NY.
