Gloria Jean Trombley, age 64, owner of the Country Cabin Gift Shop, DeKalb Jct. passed away on August 10, 2012 at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Gloria was born February 20, 1948 in Gouverneur, the daughter of Reginald and the late Helen (Gray) Hendrick of DeKalb Jct. Gloria was an entrepreneur. She owned and operated her own business, The Country Cabin Gift Shop. She started the business from her own home and expanded it to the Log Cabin Shop. She enjoyed and excelled at decorating. She was a master cake designer and produced countless wedding cakes. Her other pastimes include baking, arts and crafts, traveling, but most of all her grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Paul D. Trombley Sr.; son, Paul Trombley Jr. and wife Anna; daughter, Becky Trombley; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Franchesca and Randy; two great grandchildren, Kameron and Karson and step-great granddaughter, Kadence. Also surviving are her father Reginald; four sisters, Linda Stevenson; Regina Brabaw; Cynthia Dodge and Debra Fletcher; six brothers; Raymond, Gerald, Larry, Douglas, Carl and Ronald.
Gloria is predeceased by her mother Helen and a brother, Donald.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00am at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton, with Rev. Michael Terrell of the Canton United Methodist Church, Officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Monday, August 13. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Winter Cancer Treatment Center at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Lyons Place, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
