Funeral service for Glen R. Alexander, 72, of DeKalb Junction will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton with speaker John Frary, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on February 13, from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Glen was taken suddenly on January 25, 2014.
Glen was originally from DeKalb, but had resided in Rochester and California. He was born July 5, 1941, the son of the late Glen Sr. and Wanata (Shaw) Alexander. Glen was a master welder, a nuclear engineer at San Onofre in California and a teacher at BOCES Seaway Tech, where his passion was making a difference in the lives of his students.
Glen enjoyed being a member of the DeKalb Junction Fire Department; he was a search and rescue skydiver in Albuquerque, he enjoyed fishing and being on any body of water, traveling and most of all being a loving man, friend, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Glen is survived by his children, Scott Alexander of Costa Mesa, California; Lisa Ryan and husband William of Rochester, NY; brother, Dayton Morrison and wife Patricia and life-long companion Donna Noble of Norfolk and by her daughters and sons-in-law, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and friends.
