Geraldine M. (Roy) Tiernan

Funeral service for Geraldine M. Tiernan, 94, formerly of Canton will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary's Church, Canton with Father Bryan Stitt, Pastor celebrating. Calling hours will be held on Thursday also from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton. Burial will be in the Hermon Cemetery. Geraldine died on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the North Country Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Massena.

Geraldine was born October 24, 1930 in Lowville, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Burnett) Roy. She attended local schools. Geraldine was first married to Kenneth France, together they had three sons, James, Ronald and Kenneth E. France. Mr. France predeceased her in 1976. Later she married John Tiernan, whom also predeceased her.

Geraldine was a homemaker, she loved taking care of people. Geraldine loved being outdoors, gardening and going to McDonald's. She was also a communicant of St. Mary's Church, canton.

Among her survivors are grandsons, Joseph France (Amy Clark), Andrew France, great-granddaughter Emma France and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In additions to her husbands, Kenneth and John, her parents Joseph and Marian and all of her siblings, she was predeceased by two sons, James and Ronald France. Her youngest son, Kenneth E. France died just several hours after her passing on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
