Frances Swinwood was born in Malone on April 21, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Yelle) Patnode. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and married Harold Swinwood on December 27, 1947. She retired from J.J. Newberry's in Malone and went on to work at the Dressing Room until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Swinwood; a son Rick Swinwood and his wife Laurie; a daughter Christine Fobare and her husband Max; five grandchildren, Corey Swinwood and his wife Tara; Vanessa Kennedy and her husband Sean; Joshua, Bethany and Jesse Fobare; as well as four great-grandchildren; Nolan and Madeline Swinwood and Ava and Tyler Kennedy.
Frances will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a quiet joy about her and a deep, jolly laugh. An early morning cup of coffee on her porch, a hug from a child and time with her loved ones were the simple pleasures that made up her life. Frances was devoted to her husband and family. She lost her father, whom she cherished, at a young age and cared for her mother until she passed away at 101. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless.
