Ethel A. Rolfe

Funeral service for Ethel A. Rolfe, 75, of Canton, will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00am at the O'Leary Funeral Home; Canton with Rev. Rob Schirmer of Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Hubert's Cemetery, Star Lake. Ethel died on Monday, September 3, 2012 while at home, under the care of family and Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 6, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Hwy 11; Potsdam, NY 13676.
Surviving Ethel are four sons, John LaTray Jr. of Ogdensburg; Kenneth LaTray of Franklin City, NC; Paul LaTray and wife Tina of North Carolina and Marty Davis; four daughters, Debbie Deshane and husband Tom of Potsdam; Theresa McDonald and husband James of Canton; Lisa Lottie of Canton and Tina Dafoe and husband Tim of Pierrepont; several grand and great-grandchildren; a brother Ellon Jackson of Ogdensburg and a sister Janet Davis of Morley.
She is predeceased by brothers Kenneth and Marvin Jackson, and by two sisters.
She was born, February 18, 1937 in Oxbow, the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Jackson. She married John LaTray Sr., he predeceased her in 1980. She was a mother and homemaker and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
