Erich K. Vonschiller

On August 7, 2017 at the young age of 57, we had to say goodbye to Erich Karl von Schiller, an amazing son, a wonderful brother, a great friend, a generous uncle, an avid outdoorsman, a poker player, and a rebel Yankee's fan. In all these ways and more, he made our lives richer and fuller. Now that he has passed away, of course there is emptiness and pain, confusion and maybe even anger at death coming to a man so young, but in many ways, the gift of Erich's life is still here with us. He lives on in our memories and stories, and in our varied experiences we each had with him.

Erich was the son of Erich von Schiller and the late Mary von Schiller. He is survived by his daughter Mitzi von Schiller, step-mother Natasha von Schiller, brother Michael von Schiller, sister Julie von Schiller, brother and sister-in-law Steven and Charlotte von Schiller and their children David, Alexis, Brittany, and Brady.

Erich served in the United States military for six years, three of which he was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged, ending his career as a Staff Sergeant.

At Erich's request, his body has been donated to science research followed by cremation. Once the ashes are returned to the family, he will be buried next to his Mom and we will celebrate Erich's life with a memorial service, so friends and family can share their memories and say goodbye… for now.

Emerson once said," It is not length of life, but depth of life." Anyone who met Erich noticed his strong sense of pride; he always lived his life his way- not many of us can say that. Erich lived his life with no hesitation, no excuses, and no fear. In 57 years, he lived a lifetime.
