There will be no funeral or calling hours for Earle E. Hollenbaugh, 86 of Pine Street, Canton, who passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where he had been a patient since January 9, 2009. Contributions in his memory may be made to VFW Post 1231, Gouverneur Street, Canton, NY 13617. Arrangements are with O'Leary Funeral Service of Canton.
Surviving Mr. Hollenbaugh are sons Charles and wife Marsha Bosman, Interlaken, NY; Earle Hollenbaugh Jr., Cantonsville, MD; David and Mary Ann Hollenbaugh Downsville, NY; Daniel and Janet Hollenbaugh, Madison, AL; daughters Marion and David Lewis, Salem, NY; Nancy and Ashley Heath, Swindon, England and daughter-in-law Linda Hollenbaugh,Canton, and his companion Elizabeth Durham, Canton; 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren.

A son Kenneth Hollenbaugh, Sister June Unangst, grandson Steven Bosman and exwife Elizabeth kane predecease him.

Born August 23, 1922 in Harrisburg, PA, son of the late Fuhrman and Anna C. (Folk) Hollenbaugh, he graduated from Harrisburg, PA schools and attended Morrisville College in Harrisburg, PA with a degree in Horology, the art of making instruments for indicating time. Mr. Hollenbaugh worked in Harrisburg as a machinist at an aircraft manufacturing plant, leaving to serve in the United States Army Air Corp., he served during WWII from 1943-1946. Upon his return he attended Morrisville College and in 1954 moved to Canton. He was employed by Carbino's Jewelers in Ogdensburg and later owned Peg's Jewelers on Main St., in Canton, selling in 1960 to work at the Kraft Foods Plant, where he was head electrician and instrument specialist, retiring in 1986.

Mr. Hollenbaugh was a member of the Canton VFW Post 1231. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
