Earl F. Bonno Sr

Funeral Mass for Earl F. Bonno Sr., 91, of Maple Island Rd., Lisbon, will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 10:00am at Sts. Philip and James Church in Lisbon with Rev. Jay Seymour celebrating. Mr. Bonno passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.

Friends may call at O'Leary Funeral Service in Canton on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 2-5pm. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley at 6805 US Highway 11, Potsdam New York or to Sts. Philip and James Church in Lisbon.

Surviving Mr. Bonno is his wife of 60 years Mary Belle of Lisbon, five sons William M. of Nevada, Gilbert G. and Karen Bonno of Michigan, Earl F. Jr. and Jessie Bonno of Winthrop, Stephen F. and Connie Bonno of Lisbon, and August J. and Lisa Bonno of Lisbon; daughter Lori J. and Rob Raymond of Canton; tow brothers Pul E. and Agnes Bonno of Slab City and Donald F. and Avis Bonno of Pierrepont; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A sister Lillian Narrow and two brothers Gilbert E. and Leonard E. Bonno predecease him.

Born July 26, 1917 in Pierrepont, son of the late George and Lottie (LaPoint) Bonno attended Pierrepont Grade Schools and Colton High School. He married Mary Belle Brandt on September 1, 1947 at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam. Mr. Bonno worked for the town of Potsdam working on construction of roads starting in 1937; also he worked for the Sissonville Paper Mill for a short time and retired from Alcoa in 1976 after 33 years of service.

Mr. Bonno was a member of the Lisbon 89ers, the Alcoa 25 year club, 4H Gardening and Pheasants and a member of Sts. Philips and James Church in Lisbon. He enjoyed farming, gardening, playing cards, hunting and spending time with family.
