Calling hours for Mr. Don H. Bush, 82, of Morley will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton. Mr. Bush passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
Surviving Don are his companion, Nancy McCluskey of Morley, his son Don M. Bush of Canton, two daughters; Terry Kenny and husband Neil of Lisbon and Sherry Bush and her companion Randy Law of Richville; two brothers; Rodney and wife Sally of Black lake and Robert and wife Joanne of Florida; sisters Anna Bush of New Rochelle; Leila Hastings and husband Glen of Morley; eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Member of his extended family include Thomas Ames; Michael Ames; Peter Ames and wife Cindy all of Canton; Terry Ames of Canton; Nancy Gurney of New Paltz; Cathy Miller of Potsdam and 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A daughter Sheila in January of 1962, brothers; Wayne, Buddy and Ralph and a sister Elizabeth Bush predecease him.
Mr. Bush was born October 4, 1927 in Morristown, son of the late Clark and Evelyn (Smithers) Bush. He attended county schools. He worked for Kraft foods for 17 years, hauled milk, and drove school bus for Canton Schools for several years. He served in Korea with the US Army. A marriage to Meredith Adams ended in divorce.
Mr. Bush enjoyed Camping, spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren and was a member of the Morley Fire Department Board.
