Deborah “Deb” Orland, age 73, of Colton passed away peacefully at her home on April 21th 2026.

Deb was an energetic kind soul who brought light and happiness into any room she stepped foot in. She was born in Colorado on May 22nd 1952. After moving in her younger years to New Jersey, she met the love of her life, Ray Orland.

Deb and Ray married and blessed with two children. They decided to move to the peace and tranquility of Colton New York, where they spent the remainder of their years together. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her husband, enjoying adventures, laughter and taking on the joys of life together as one. They shared many wonderful memories over their 50+ years together.

Deb worked for many years at Colton-Pierrepont Central School where she shaped the lives and minds of many children. Deb loved children dearly and greatly enjoyed being a teacher and sharing her artistic and musical abilities with kids making things fun and interactive. She made such a profound impact on students’ lives and even remained in touch with some of her students throughout the years. Wherever she went was filled with happiness and laughter and she will be greatly missed by many.
