Obituary

David Bradman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in the loving company of his immediate family. Born in Buffalo, NY, David was the son of Grace Bradman (née Cincotta) and Samuel Bradman. His journey through life was marked by an unyielding commitment to teaching, coaching, and nurturing all those he encountered. David graduated from Pembroke Jr-Sr High School in Corfu, NY, in 1966, and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Adelphi University in 1970. He furthered his education with a Master's Degree, setting the foundation for a remarkable career in education and athletics. David began his professional journey at Canton High School in 1984, where he dedicated 24 years to teaching physical education and coaching football and lacrosse. His coaching career was illustrious, amassing 364 wins in lacrosse and securing Section 10 titles for ten consecutive years. David's Canton High School team became the only Section 10 team to reach the state finals, a testament to his exceptional leadership and coaching acumen. In 2002, he was inducted into the Canton High School Hall of Fame alongside the football team he led, and in 2008, he earned a place in the Upstate New York Chapter of The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. David's passion for sports extended beyond his retirement in 2008. He founded the Women's Lacrosse Program at SUNY Canton in 2012, where he continued to coach until his passing. His greatest gift was his ability to teach young people to be better players, better teammates, and better people by showing them love and care. A gifted athlete himself, David excelled in both football and lacrosse during his high school and college years. His love for sports was matched by his devotion to his family. David's 41 year marriage to his beloved wife, Tisch Toon, was a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
