Memorial services for Darren E. Ames, 27, of Canton, will be held at 3:30pm at O'Leary Funeral Service of Canton on Saturday, March 21, 2009 with Rev. Douglas Lucia, rector of St. Mary's Church, Canton officiating. Mr. Ames passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 1pm until the time of the service.
Surviving Mr. Ames are his companion Angela Blazo of Colorado, his four children Kevin, Madelyn, Derek and Ava Ames all of Colorado, his mother Linda and step-father Bill Hill of Athens, Alabama, a brother Dennis "DJ" Ames and his wife Cassandra, and several cousins. His father, Joseph Ames, on August 24, 2004, predeceases him.
Born February 11, 1982 in Potsdam son of the late Joseph Ames and Linda (Bylow) Hill, he attended Canton Schools. Mr. Ames served with the United States Army from 2001 to 2004, serving in Iraq. Mr. Ames has worked construction since returning from overseas, for various firms in the area.
He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and hockey.
