Colleen M. (Holmes) Murdock

Colleen M. Murdock, 83 of Canton died at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 where she had been a patient for a short time.

Colleen was born February 2, 1936 in Lisbon, the daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn (Lewis) Holmes. She graduated from Lisbon High School. Colleen married Lester Murdock in February of 1954. Together, Colleen and Lester raised four children; Barbara, Frederick, Theodore (Rita) and Steven (Kenelia). Colleen was a homemaker, she enjoyed garage saling, fishing and horses. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Monica Stone for the carriage ride last August.

Surviving besides her husband and children are, grandchildren, Shane (Melissa) Murdock, Jessica Murdock, Jenny(Duane) Walrath, Ryan (Sara) Murdock, Kara Murdock, Angelica Clarke and Isaac Cook; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Terry Holmes, Tex (Jackie) Holmes, Bernard Holmes, Catherine Goldie and a special dog, Buddy.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Barbara, two brothers, David and Charlie and by sisters, Ramona, Juanita, a daughter-in-law, Rowena "Tootsie" Murdock and by her dog, Baby.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm at the home of Rhonda and Corey Dirhberg at 5969 US Highway 11; Canton, NY. In accordance with her wishes, Colleen's body was donated to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
