Charles Paro

Funeral service for Mr. Charles E. Paro, 86, of Canton will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 1:00pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Bill Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Canton. Mr. Paro passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at his home.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11am until the time of the service.
Surviving Mr. Paro are his wife of 64 years Helen, three sons, Guy and wife Charlene Paro of Canton; James and wife Patricia Paro of Syracuse and Charles of Canton and Florida; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by a son Gary and a sister Vivian Post.
Born August 15, 1923 in Dekalb Jct; he was the son of the late Charles A. and Dora (Waldo) Paro. He graduated from Colton Schools in 1941. Mr. Paro worked at the Clifton Mines; Martin's Beer Plant, drove Uke Truck or the power project in South Colton; worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway and was a member of the Canton-Ogdensburg-Syracuse area Unions. On May 21, 1945 he married Helen Perry in Kentucky.
Charles enjoyed hunting at Stone Dam and the outdoors and spending winters in Florida.
