Funeral services for Celia R. Murdock, 83, a resident of United Helpers Nursing Home, Canton, formerly of 17 Dies Street, will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 10:00am at O'Leary Funeral Service in Canton with the Rev. Douglass Lucia, of St. Mary's Church in Canton, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Canton. Mrs. Murdock passed away on Friday, November 07, 2008 at the United Helpers Canton Nursing Home where she had been a resident since October of 2005.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday; November 9, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Contributions in memory of Celia may be made to the Agarwal Renal Center, 214 King Street, Ogdensburg, New York 13669 or to a charity of ones choice.

Surviving Mrs. Murdock are four sons; Lawrence Hill of Ogdensburg; Wayne and JoAnn Hill of Potsdam; Leo Hill of Pierrepont; Allan and Elizabeth (Betty) Hill of Reading, PA; two daughters, Serena LaLone of Canton; Marsha Cota of Ogdensburg; two brothers, Frank and Beulah White of Canton; Harry White of PennYann, NY; and a sister Linda White of Ogdensburg, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers Robert and Donald White, two sisters Carol White and Joan (Betty) Taylor, and a sister-in-law Marcia White and a grandson Wayne Hill Jr. predecease her.

Born August 27, 1925 in Potsdam, daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Broussa) White, she graduated from Canton Schools in 1943 and the Rhode Island Business School in 1944, and at the age of 70, received her Associates degree in Computer Programming from Canton ATC. Celia worked at McCarthy's restaurant, People's Oil, St. Lawrence County Social Services and the St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging, retiring in 2006 at 80 years young.

A marriage to Saranas C. Hill ended in divorce. She later married Raymond Murdock and he predeceased her on July 20, 1989.

Mrs. Murdock enjoyed Bingo, garage sales, Pedro, quilting and knitting, Ice Skating Shows, collecting salt and pepper shakers, country music and dancing, and going for car rides in the country. She was past treasurer of VFW Post 1231 Ladies Auxiliary for 11 years.
