Catherine Hourihan

Funeral service for Catherine Hourihan, 82, of Morley, will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton with Rev. Dennis Lowe, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Spring burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Canton on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Catherine died on Sunday, February 3, while at home under the care of family and St. Lawrence Valley Hospice.
Surviving Catherine are a daughter, Patricia Morrison and husband Samuel of Morley; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Amo. She is predeceased by three sons, William J; Derek R. and Clarence E. Amo and by 11 brothers and sisters.
Catherine was born, April 29, 1930 in Canton, the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Merkley) Lewis. Catherine attended Canton Schools. She married Patrick W. Hourihan on October 8, 1955 in Richville with Rev. Coffey, officiating; Patrick died on June 16, 2010. She worked as a self-employed house cleaner and care giver in the area.
Catherine and Patrick were past King and Queen of the Canton Seniors Citizens, members of Lisbon Senior Citizens and she enjoyed gardening, cooking and loved her children.
