Arthur L. Anson, 78, of Hermon, died peacefully at his home on Friday, July 24, 2020 where is was surrounded by his family, while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.

Arthur was born May 27, 1942 in Rochester, New York; a son of the late Hank and Eleanor (Branch) Anson. Arthur attended local schools prior to serving in the US Air Force. Upon his return from service, Arthur married Mildred "Millie" Lottie on June 23, 1962.

Arthur began his career as a mechanic and later became a heavy equipment operator before starting his own business, A&M Construction. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising horses and his beloved chickens. His favorite pastimes where making maple syrup every year and spending time in the garage with the boys. Outside of his most cherished time being spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he enjoyed the company of his cat, "Miss Kitty".

Arthur is survived by his wife of 58 years, Millie; five children, Mildred (Brayton) Foote; Arthur W. Anson; James F. Anson; Lean G. (Dawn) Anson and Brenda (Jerry) Foster; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Arthur is also survived by five siblings, Ann Wells; Connie Nolan; Burt Anson; Linden Anson and Randy Anson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Lawrence Anson and four brothers; Frank, Walter, William and Michael Anson.
