Arlene E. White, 99, of Russell, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Massena.
Arlene was born June 13, 1926 in St. Regis Falls, New York, a daughter of the late Theodore and Alice (Socia) Ashlaw. On November 24, 1945, Arlene married Edward White at the Russell United Methodist parsonage with Rev. VanOrnum officiating. The couple spent their entire married life in Russell and owned and operated the Shell Service Station.
Arlene is survived by five children, Ronnie (Marcia) White of Russell, Gary (Song) White of Russell, Jennie (Jack) Durham of Hayesville, NC, Brian (Ann) White of Russell and Steve (Debbie) White of NH, daughter-in-law Shirley White of Russell, 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her beloved Ed and parents Theodore and Alice, she was predeceased by a son, Leon "Stub" White and by siblings, Erma, Carl and Lucille.
A private graveside service will be held at South Russell Cemetery.
