Andrew Brian Morrill

September 1, 1963 — November 16, 2024

Formerly of DeKalb, New York

Andrew Brian Morrill, "Andy," 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Little Falls, NY, on November 15, 2024.

Andy was born in Canton, NY, on September 1, 1963, to Gerald and Shirley Morrill.  He struggled with many health issues beginning as a baby and throughout his life including oral cancer in the last year.  Though it was very difficult battle he recently completed his treatments and was excited to receive a scan that did not detect any cancer.

Andy attended Hermon Dekalb Central School, later graduating from Gouverneur.  He enlisted in the Army after high school, where he was stationed at Fort Knox and Fort Hood.  As well as overseas in Korea and Germany.  He also did a tour in Iraq during Desert Storm and was very proud of his service.

He was always a hard worker who rarely took a day off. He worked on many farms before finally reaching his childhood dream of becoming a semi-truck driver. He drove a variety of trucks throughout his life, but he was the most passionate about his milk truck which he drove until his health would no longer allow.

His main hobby was tinkering; taking things apart, putting them back together, fixing small motors, and spending time in his shed.

But above all else, he loved his family and his dogs. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Morrill. His children Erica Morrill, Andrew R. Morrill (Laura), Ashley Sohns (Matthew), Kylie Morrill, and Nathan Morrill. His stepchildren Fred Eells (Kati), Sadie Coffey, and Jennifer Cook. His grandchildren McKenzie, Madison, Lucas, Arianna, Riley, Hazel, Evelyn, Braylynn, and Nevaeha. Also, his siblings, LuAnn Hilts, Carol Hudson (Roger), Steve Morrill (Jill) and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Gerald and Shirley Morrill, brothers Robert and Tom Morrill, sister Linda Morrill, brother-in-law Tom Hilts, and son-in-law Andrew Congdon.

Our dad suffered from PTSD and was passionate about dogs.  So in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to K9s for warriors.  They provide highly trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD.
