Ogdensburg- Almond Wesley (Bugger) Gordon Jr; 56, died on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at his residence in Ogdensburg, surrounded by his family while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
He is survived by his wife of 38years, Patricia of Ogdensburg; three sons, Kelly L. Gordon of Norfolk, VA; Almond W. Gordon III of Ogdensburg; Christopher T. Gordon of Ogdensburg, two daughters Amanda A. Gordon and her companion Danny Whitcombe, Sr. and Melissa R. Gordon all of Ogdensburg; three brothers, Bert and his wife Rosalie Thomas of Canton; Timothy and his wife Melissa Gordon of Ogdensburg; Randy and wife Debra Gordon of Ohio, five sisters, Valerie and her husband Chester Ward of Watertown; Sherry and her husband Edward Reed of Potsdam; Trudy and her husband William Exelby of Cape Vincent; Susan and her husband Douglass Rombough of Plant City Florida and Tammie and her husband Jim Higgins of Madrid; 8 grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousins.
A brother Terry J. Gordon Sr. predeceases him.
Born February 10, 1953 in Canton, he was the son of the late Almond Sr. and Shirley (Bice) Gordon. He attended Canton and Madrid-Waddington Schools, later earning his G.E.D. He married Patricia A. Baker on May 3, 1971 in Morley. He served in the United States Marines from 1971 to 1973. He worked numerous jobs in the Ogdensburg area, including Robby's Marina, Price Chopper and NYSARC. While in Georgia from 1997 to 2006 he worked for Fruit of the Loom.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 4:00pm at the O'Leary Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. William Hart officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4pm.
