Stephen Bonno Obituary

Stephen F. Bonno, 62 of Lisbon passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 in the comfort of his home, where he was surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.

Stephen was born September 24, 1956 in Canton, the son of the late Earl and Mary (Brandt) Bonno. Being a lifelong resident of Lisbon, he graduated from Lisbon Central School in 1974. On June 11, 1977, Stephen was married to Connie Garlough. They celebrated 42 years of marriage earlier this month. Stephen was a life-long dairy farmer, first working with his father and later for himself. He drove school bus for Lisbon Central for 25 years and in 2003 became a full time corrections officer for St. Lawrence County. While in high school, Stephen was a member of the FFA and was working on the family dairy farm before graduation.

Stephen enjoyed hunting, fishing and most anything he could do outdoors. He loved working with his excavator and maple sugaring. His most cherished times were spent with his family, especially with his 12 grandchildren, Sean Bates, Nickolas, Alainnah, Stephen Jr., Hunter, and Alexander Bonno, Zachary, Lucas and Noah Aldrich and Sophia, Mary and Jonathan Bonno.

He is also survived by his wife Connie and their five children, Stephen and Bess Bonno; Crystal and Tim Aldrich; Jonathan and Kate Bonno; Justin and Sara Bonno and Joshua and Nicole Bonno, all of Lisbon.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at Sts. Phillip and James Church in Lisbon with Father Kevin O’Brien, Celebrating. A celebration of life will follow the service at the Lisbon Hepburn Library. Contributions in his memory may be made to Sts. Phillip and James Church; P.O. Box 377; Heuvelton, New York 13654.
