Michael J. Fifield

Funeral service for Michael J. Fifield, 62, of Pyrites, will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 9:00 am at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton with Pastor Michael Terrell, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Canton. Michael died on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society; P.O. Box 22478; Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Michael is survived by a brother, Richard Waldo and wife Goldie of Churchville, NY; three sisters, Lillian Flanagan and husband Guy; Judy Sharlow and husband Richard and Connie Chase and husband Marlo, all of Pyrites. Michael is also survived by sister-in-law’s, Dora Waldo of Ogdensburg and Rosella Waldo of Pierrepont as well as several nieces and nephews.

Michael is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lena Fifield and brother, Charles and Frank Waldo.

Michael was born September 20, 1955 in Canton, the son of Joseph James and Lena (Lottie) Fifield. Michael worked for NYSARC but his true desire was to become a famous baseball manager. He was an avid NY Yankees fan. Michael loved to read the newspaper, especially the obituaries to learn the history of people. Once Michael made your acquaintance, he would never forget you.
