Jody B. Sharlow

Jody B. Sharlow, 55, of Potsdam, died peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home where he was with his family and under the care of Hospice.

Jody was born June 4, 1964 in Canton, the son of the late Alvin and Elizabeth (Corcoran) Sharlow. He graduated from Colton-Pierrepont High School. He was a bricklayer and stone mason by trade. In June of 1987 he married Dawn Briggs. He enjoyed playing golf with his wife, sons and brother Tim, riding his motorcycle and telling jokes. Jody’s sense of humor and lack of filter made for some interesting outings, leaving many laughs for his family and friends to cherish.

Jody is survived by his wife, Dawn; two sons, Matthew (Brittany) Sharlow and Luke Sharlow and companion Hannah Warren; grandchildren, Erin and Terrance Harvin and Owen Sharlow. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Joe and Alberta Briggs; siblings, Ed Sharlow, Timothy (Holly) Sharlow and Katricia Carr; and Devin and Rachael Gardner, who he thought of as a son.

Besides his parents, Alvin and Elizabeth, he is predeceased by a brother. Gary Sharlow.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm followed by his funeral service at 3:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton. Contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 6805 US Highway 11; Potsdam, New York 13676.
