Dorothy Reynolds

A time of reflection and sharing for 81 year old Dorothy L. Reynold will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home in Canton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Dorothy passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at her daughters home in Kentucky with her loving daughters and dear friend Darla Waits by her side.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Marta (Paul) Whalen of Colton and Leslie Green of Kentucky. Five grandchildren, David (Krista) Hurley, Bryan (Ann) Whalen, Jason (Kallie) Whalen, Bill (Paige) Setters and Brooke (Josh Geise) Green; 11 great-grandchildren Aileen,  Anna, Austin, Ava, Bailee, Benjamin, Ella, Jack, Raelynn, Sean and Theodore. A sister, Anita Cooch and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.  

Dorothy was born in Anthon, Iowa on March 27, 1937, daughter of the late Elmer and Ina Marie (Lewis) Myers. She was the manager of student housing at Western Iowa Tech. Community College in Sioux City, retiring in 1998. A marriage to Jon Lee Reynolds ended in divorce.

Moving to Colton after retiring to be near family and friends, she enjoyed travelling and living on the water. Besides her parents, Dorothy is predeceased by a brother Otis Myers, sister, LaVerne (Myers) Thompson and her beloved son, Robert Jon Reynolds.
