Donald H. Steen, 83, of Pierrepont, passed away on May 8, 2018 at his home.
Donald was born August 8, 1934 in Lisbon, New York, the son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Martin) Steen. Donald attended school till he was of age to join the ARMY, which he did and made a career of, retiring in 1971. Upon his return from service, he built a small cabin in Clare and lived off the grid for many years. Donny liked to be by himself, although he had lots of friends. He would keep an eye on all the local hunting camps in the area, while living in Clare.
Later on, as he became unable to manage being off the grid, he relocated to Pierrepont. Donny was a quiet and very humble man, who loved his family and friends.
Donny is survived by a brother, Francis Steen of Clyde, NY; a sister, Ruby Rexford of Canton and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his twin brother, Thomas Steen; Vernon Steen and a sister, Cora Besaw.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 16th at 2:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton with Bill Huckle, officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Road Cemetery.
