Those words of kindness about Bert in his obituary are right on. That was Bert everyday. I always enjoyed his jokes, he had at least one everyday at the Reserve Center on our training week-ends. Great guy.

I am so sorry to hear of Bert’s passing. He was such a genuine and compassionate man, and he was so engaged in his work as a juvenile officer. It is difficult to fathom how many lives he impacted. The world needs more people with Bert’s outlook on life, he will surely be missed.
