Bernice E. Cary, 55, of Ogdensburg and formerly of Potsdam, died at the Crouse Hospital in Syracuse on Thursday, July 18, 2019 where she was in the company of both her given family and her United Helpers Family.
Bernice was born August 27, 1963, the daughter of O. George and Joan B. (Miller) Cary. Born with spina bifida, she led a life of challenges but made the absolute best of the hand she was dealt. Bernice enjoyed playing cards, stuffed animals and music. One always knew where you stood with Bernice, but she was always there to lend a hand no matter what.
She is survived by her mother, Joan Cary of Potsdam; four brothers, Geoff and Linda Cary of Stockholm; Michael Cary of Potsdam; Richard and Tammy Cary of Liverpool; and Timothy and Jennifer Cary of Windsor, VT; two sisters, Irene and David Perry of Hopkinton and Tammy and Phillip Snyder of Potsdam. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Lisa Cary of Colton as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she cherished and more friends than one could count.
She was predeceased by her father, George, a sister Barbara Ann, nephew Jason Cary and great-nephew Ralph O’Donnell.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the O’Leary Funeral Home in Canton. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the funeral home at 10:00am. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Hannawa.
