Robert O. Sweet

Graveside Service for Robert O. “Bob” Sweet, 74, of Morley, will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Morley Cemetery. Bob died at home on Friday, September 9, 2016.

There will be no calling hours. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Morley Volunteer Fire Department; 7220 CR 27; Canton, NY 13617 or to the Morley Branch Library; 7230 CR 27; Canton, NY 13617.

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Sweet of Morley; by a son, Stephen Sweet of Philadelphia, PA; by two daughters, Diane Sweet of Morley and Melissa Sweet and companion Jim Lottie of DeKalb; by a sister, Phyllis Johnson of Syracuse; by several nieces and nephews and by long-time family friend, Kathy Stromnes.

Bob is predeceased by his parent, and by two sisters, Patricia Parmeter and Virginia Adams.

Bob was born, July 6, 1942 in Massena, the son of Wilson W. and Mae Elizabeth (Weegar) Sweet. He graduated from Canton Central School in 1960 and then served 4 years in the US Air Force. On October 30, 1965, Bob married Mary Harper in Waddington. Bob was a farmer, operating the family farm in Morley. He was a 25 year member of the Morley Volunteer Fire Department and the Madrid American Legion.
