Myrna was born March 13, 1931 in Morley, the oldest of five children, to John and Marian (Jones) Jordan. She was raised on her parents’ dairy farm. Myrna graduated from Canton High School in 1948 and from Canton ATI in 1950 with degree in Secretarial Science. Myrna worked as a secretary for Dompnier & Leonard Insurance Company for several years. She later retired due to health concerns and lived on her family’s farm. She enjoyed embroidery, knitting, crossword puzzles, reading and caring for her family, her parents, four siblings, 16 nieces and nephews and 32 great-nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. They all knew who had the candy.

Myrna leaves behind three sisters, Joan Newman of Canton; Diane (Lloyd) Cunningham of Lake Odessa, MI and Rebecca (Christopher) O’Brian of Lisbon and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Jordan. Myrna is predeceased by her parents John and Marian; a brother, William Jordan; a brother-in-law, Jack Newman and a niece, Denise Newman Paquette.

Myrna overcame many obstacles in her life. She was an inspiring person who was always determined to persevere no matter how difficult the task.

She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone at the Maplewood Campus, where she has happily lived for the past 11 years. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Maplewood and Hospice for being Myrna’s second family; for the love, support and friendship they offered her.
