Carl W. Coller

Carl W. Coller, 91, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Canton, NY.

            Mr. Coller was born July 12, 1926 in Russell, NY to the late Mrs. Ella Smith-Coller. Mr. Coller married Anne Coloton on December 25, 1947. They celebrated 48 years of marriage before her passing on January 24, 1996.

            Mr. Coller worked for 22 years at Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation until it closed in 1977. Mr. Coller ran the family farm for 68 years on the Canton-Russell Road, at the home where he was born.

            Mr. Coller was a member of the school board for Knox-Memorial Central School for 16 years.

            His survivors include a son, Lynn and Linda (Alford) Coller of Russell, NY; a daughter, Carole and Larry Jenne of Canton, NY; a daughter Gina and Ray Caldwell of Canton, NY; a daughter Tina Coller of DeKalb Junction, NY and a daughter-in-law Carol Coller of Russell, NY.  In addition, his grandchildren include: Jennifer Baxter and Christy Tupper of Russell, NY and Brooke Jenne of Canton, NY. He has three grandsons, Connor Caldwell of California, Ryan and Jaden Caldwell of Canton, NY.

            He is the great-grandfather to Avery Benson, William Baxter, Holden Tupper, Grayson Tupper and Kullyn Tupper of Russell, NY. He is survived by a brother, Ceylon Coller, currently living in California.

            He was predeceased by his wife Anne Coller and a son Phillip Coller.

            Arrangements are with the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton, NY. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours and funeral services will be held privately.

            In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Activity Fund of Maplewood Nursing Home. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of Maplewood Nursing Home, Dr. Greg Healey and Hospice for the excellent care that he received.
