Funeral mass for Mary L. Nash, Canton will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Canton with Rev. Raymond Moreau celebrating. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be in the spring. Mrs. Nash passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Spicer Adult Care Home in Canton where she had been a resident for some time.
Friends may call at O’Leary Funeral Home in Canton on Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 6-9pm. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Mary’s School, Powers Street, Canton, New York 13617.
Surviving Mrs. Nash are a son Charles B. Nash and wife Cathleen O’Horo of Canton, two daughters, Donna and Floyd Bayley of Rochester and Denise Nash of Elgin, Illinois, a brother Gaynor Bradley of Utica, grandchildren; Sarah O’Horo-Nash of Canton, Emily Bayley of Albany and Loren Bayley of Switzerland, nieces and nephews.
Her husband Donald Nash, two brothers Joseph and Francis Bradley and a sister Jeanne Drummond predecease her.
Born July 9, 1921 in Utica, daughter of the late George A. and Kathleen (McGuinness) Bradley. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales School in Utica in 1939 and from Canton ATI in 1941.She was the hospital dietician for Emma Jean Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY, Teacher of Tailoring in Adult Education for the office of the aging in Canton. She married Donald Nash on February 9, 1946 in Our Lady of Lord’s Church in Utica.
Mrs. Nash enjoyed ceramics, Garden Club, Bridge and Golf, she made hats, was a gourmet cook, seamstress and loved flower arranging.
